Chase made it!

Chases' story:

Chase McManus is a 16 year old soccer player who tore his ACL nearly a year ago. A devastating injury that requires rigorous rehabilitation, dedication and perseverance.

Chase was forced to sit out from soccer for a whole year leaving him in the position that all his normal activities were a huge effort

He started his own rehabilitation and reached the point where he was able to practice again and decided to contact his old coach, Rick Wilson. Rick had experience with returning players to the game after this type of surgery, as his son had previously had this procedure (twice in fact).

Chase was due to head back to America in 3 months to try out for a club team and still had a massive amount of work to do. His surgically repaired leg had almost no muscle, his fitness was low and he hadn’t touched the ball in six months. Rick knew that he had left his run very late and that he would have to be prepared to do a mountain of work to be ready in such a short time frame.

Rick developed an intensive program for him to work tirelessly on his legs with endless sprinting, squats, balance and ball work. Rick had Chase running every day, training with him 2-3 times a week and then sent him to work with Sam Siamoa at the Supreme fitness studio.

Training session were always intense but Chase showed extreme commitment and dedication and results soon came.

Chase is now back in America training and playing “as if it never happened” His knee feels better than ever and the wasted muscle has been built up again and his fitness and ball skills are back to pre injury level.

This was one of the toughest experiences I have had in my life but thanks to Rick pushing me to be better I’ve come back better than ever from it”
