2016 was an amazing year for your Citizens! We saw new players, new coaches, new lights and new funds all rush in to our club!
Our All Ability side will once again be on the pitch, ready to make a difference! We are proud to say that Collingwood City is a club for everyone, and our commitment to the Junior Eagles reaffirms this.
We are also so very excited that the Yarra Council has completed their lighting project, making it safer for night training at our grounds and paving the way for our CCFC Girls teams to have a women's side to aim for in the years to come! The girls teams did quite a lot on their own, being part of the Yarra Council's program to see local clubs adding more female participants.
Our Junior program excelled to over 500 registered players, a new club record that kept our staff busy both on game days and days off! The club would go on to be featured with Melbourne City FC twice, once in conjunction with Sunrise and another after winning the Goals for Grassroots for round 9. A tremendous thanks goes to Josh and his family for letting the camera crew tail them around for an afternoon!
Our Seniors took us to places we had not seen in a decade! From the second round of the FFA Cup, to a third squad to boost our player pool, to an additional two accolades with the club's name on it, the first as an individual award with Jake Buckley taking home the State 4 East league golden boot. He will not be able to defend it this coming year however, as the Seniors won promotion into State 3 South East!
We would be remiss if we did not thank the countless coaches, players, and parents who have made this year an amazing one. If you would like to be part of the success of 2017, please contact us! You would be surprised at what all goes on to make the club run so smoothly!
Happy New Year, and Happy 2017!
