Noble Park United SC hosted us this past weekend, and we cannot thank them enough for housing our guests during that torrential downpour late Saturday afternoon.
It was nice and sunny as our Reserves played out a close 3-4 loss. It was tough on Luke Petican who opened up the scoring and Batu Cimen who gave us a brace as well as the first half lead of 3-1! The second half had a our backline exposed and the hosts made us pay.
The Seniors started off brilliantly as last year's Golden Boot winner, Jake Buckley scoring on the 14th minute, beating the keeper at the near post. We had a flurry of chances, and never looked back from the opening goal. Unfortunately we the United side a lifeline in the 30th as Adam Keweifio-Okai cleared a through ball, but the hit went curling around keeper AJ Oversby and into the back of our net.
Rain did not deter us in the second half, however the lightning was cause for concern, and a game delay. When the officiating staff declared the game could continue, David Kilcommons latched onto a cross in the 75th minute and headed home the winner!
After three games we are leading the league, even topping our rivals last year from State 4 East, Brandon Park.
