Our final run of home games ended this weekend for the Seniors and Reserves. A big thanks to the support we got from the Golds who came out to see us in the wild weather as we faced off against Skye United.
Another person who has kept our spirits up and stomachs warm this year has been our canteen maven, Ange Cullen who graduated from her Dentist Nurse classes Friday and STILL managed to be at the club for kickoff! Congratulations Ange!
The Reserves were propelled to a 3-1 win on the back of youth coach Cris Tumkaya who grabbed a hat-trick! Another commendation goes out to Assistant Seniors Manager Dan Bates who stood in as goalie for the game, an unenviable task on most days, more so in the wind in rain of Friday.
We would also be sad to see Kenzo Naritomi play his last game for us as he returns to Japan today. We thank you for your contributions this year on and off the field. We cannot wait to see you soon.
The Seniors would find themselves facing an uphill battle of 1-3 with a goal from Pat Makris. We would fight back with Pat getting his second before Federico Bono drew us level. We would unfortunately gift a late penalty which Skye converted to steal the points back.
The Golds saw Dean Leigh keep his goalscoring streak alive, but would lose 1-4 to Monahs Uni.
The Silvers returned to their winning ways with a 3-0 win against Ashburton United. Goals from player/coach Lewis Gyde, Rony Achkar, and Dale James.
We are away to Monbulk Rangers SC this coming weekend and the canteen will be back in the capable hands of Ange. Be sure to wish her well when you see her!
