MINIROOS & JUNIOR SOCCER
MiniRoos Program
Our MiniRoos Program, covering Under 8 through to Under 13, provides a strong foundation for players as they begin to develop their football and discover their potential. With multiple teams across many age groups, the program caters for players across a range of abilities, from those playing for the first time through to high-performing players looking for a more competitive environment.
Our coaches focus on developing the core technical skills, game understanding and decision-making that provide the foundations for long-term player development. Sessions are engaging and age-appropriate, with players encouraged to experiment, make decisions and develop their confidence with the ball.
While enjoyment is an important part of the MiniRoos experience, our focus extends beyond simply playing games. We want players to develop a genuine understanding and love of football while building the skills and habits that will support their progression through the Collingwood City pathway. As players develop, there are opportunities to progress into our higher-level junior teams and continue towards U21, Reserve and Senior football.

Junior Community Program
Our Junior Community Program provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for players of all ages and abilities. Whether players are new to football, developing their skills or looking for a more social football experience, the program provides an opportunity to play, learn and enjoy the game within the Collingwood City environment.
Our experienced and dedicated coaches focus on developing strong football fundamentals while creating an environment where players feel supported, challenged and connected to their teammates. Players are encouraged to develop their skills, confidence and understanding of the game at their own pace, while being given opportunities to progress as their ability and ambition develops.
At the heart of the program is a belief that every player should have the opportunity to enjoy football, develop their potential and feel part of the club. For players who want to progress into more competitive football, the Community Program also provides a pathway into our higher-level junior teams and, ultimately, through the broader Collingwood City pathway.
Junior Advanced Development Program
Our Junior Advanced Development Program is designed for high-level players in our A teams from U14 through to U18 who are committed to progressing their football and working towards Senior football. The program provides an additional layer of development beyond regular team training and matches, creating a more comprehensive environment designed to prepare players for the demands of the next level.
Players work with high-quality, club-educated and licensed coaches who understand the Collingwood City football philosophy and the standards required to progress through our pathway. Alongside their regular team program, players receive additional development across strength and conditioning, nutrition and match analysis, helping them develop the technical, tactical, physical and professional qualities required to compete at higher levels.
The program is designed for players who want to challenge themselves in a competitive environment and maximise their potential. With a clear focus on progression, players are prepared for the transition from junior football into U21, Reserve and ultimately Senior football, providing a structured pathway for those who want to take their football as far as possible.
Foundation Program
Our Foundation Program introduces Kinder and Under 6/7 players to football in a fun, welcoming and supportive environment. The program provides young players with their first opportunity to develop basic football skills, learn how to play with others and begin building a connection with the game and the club.
Sessions are designed around age-appropriate activities that develop fundamental movement, ball skills, coordination and confidence while introducing the basic principles of football. Players are encouraged to explore, experiment and enjoy being active, creating positive early experiences that can build a lasting love of the game.
The program runs every Saturday afternoon and welcomes both new and experienced players.

A Clear Pathway Through Collingwood City
Across all of our junior programs, our focus is on providing the right environment for players at every stage of their development. We recognise that players develop at different rates and have different levels of ability, experience and ambition, which is why our programs are designed to provide opportunities for both participation and progression.
From a player's first experience in our Foundation Program, through MiniRoos and junior football, and into our higher-level A teams and Advanced Development Program, players can continue to develop within a connected club environment. For those who want to pursue football at a higher level, this pathway extends through U21 and Reserve football and ultimately into our Senior Men’s and Women’s programs.
Our goal is to develop players for the long term, providing high-quality coaching, appropriate challenges and opportunities to progress while ensuring that players continue to enjoy their football and feel connected to Collingwood City throughout their journey.
